State park with large deer population. Similar community occurs on lower slope across creek. Other forest types include red oak - black gum, red oak - beech and hemlock/rhododendron (in other drains).;Step in slope above a steep drop off to creek. Community is a deciduous forest dominated by red oak and basswood with maples and beech in understory. Herb cover with moderately high cover but low diversity, refelcts moist, acidic soils.
